Quantum Chemistry & Spectroscopy

Research in our group tackles problems at the interface of electronic structure and molecular motion.  This interface can be direct, such as the development of new methods for ab initio molecular dynamics.  In can also involve the "inverse" problem wherein electronic properties are inferred from signatures of molecular motion, such as vibrational spectroscopy.  These new methods are applied to answer fundamental questions in the area of ion/radical solvation and catalysis.

Our group is housed in the Henry Eyring Center for Theoretical Chemistry and is supported by the Center for High-Performance Computing at The University of Utah.
